The 55th annual GEMBOREE is being hosted by the Queensland Gem Clubs Association (QGCA) which consists of the five members of the Association of Central Queensland Gem and Mineral Clubs (Callide Rock & Gem Club, Gladstone District Gem Mineral & Rock Club, Monto Lapidary Club, Rockhampton Lapidary Club, Yeppoon and District Lapidary Association) and the five members of the Wide Bay Burnett Gem Clubs Association (Bundaberg Gem & Mineral Society, Gympie Gem Club, Hervey Bay Gem & Mineral Club, Maryborough Gem & Mineral Society, Nambour Lapidary Club).

This Association has chosen Rockhampton as the location and Arthur Cleary, President of the Rockhampton Club and Secretary of QGCA, as the event co-ordinator. Arthur’s vision is to make the 2019 GEMBOREE an outstanding success. He has already made a huge effort in planning and organising for 2019. He has met with many who have offered invaluable advice and has received generous donations from Coolamon Mining and Rod Beattie for the 2019 GEMBOREE raffle. He has support from Rockhampton and other QGCA club members and is looking forward with confidence to a great turn out at the Rockhampton Showgrounds in 2019.
