This family friendly festival is celebrated each year in May, on the weekend closest to 23 May when HMB Endeavour anchored in Bustard Bay on the Queensland coast.

In 2019 the 27th annual 1770 Festival theme is Experiences in Paradise. The towns of Agnes Water and 1770 are definitely paradise and whether you are a local or an out of town visitor, there are three days of great experiences to be enjoyed.

Friday 24 May starts at 5pm with a re-enactment of Lt Cook and his crew coming ashore for only the second time on the east coast of Australia. Gates open at 9am on Saturday 25 May with the fab and fun Festival Street Parade starting from 1770 Marina at 9.30am, finishing at the Festival Grounds.

There will be live and local music, food, many varied market stalls, as well as interactive demonstrations and workshops for the kids and adults alike. Preparations for the 2020 Festival have also already commenced with the creation of a Harmony Wall where all visitors are encouraged to contribute.

On Sunday there is the 1770 Fun Run which is suitable for all abilities with prams having free entry.
