Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours joins Tourism Australia's discover Aboriginal Experiences Program

Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours, proudly owned and operated by the Traditional Owners of the Bundaberg Region, has been officially welcomed as one of the newest members of Tourism Australia’s prestigious Discover Aboriginal Experiences collective.

Established in 2022, Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours was created to preserve and share the stories, language, and traditions of the Taribelang Bunda people. Through immersive cultural experiences, the tours aim to educate both the local community and visitors about the rich Indigenous heritage of the region.

Taribelang Bunda is one of only seven new members and one of just three Queensland-based operators to join the national collective, which now includes 54 world-class Aboriginal tourism experiences.

“To be recognised as part of the Discover Aboriginal Experiences collective is a welcomed acknowledgment of our mob’s hard work in gathering stories, developing experiences, and building our business,” said Bec Domaille, spokesperson for Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours. “Our Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Tour is something our mob is very proud of—it’s paving a brighter future for our emerging leaders.”

The Discover Aboriginal Experiences program showcases exceptional Indigenous tourism operators who represent their cultures with authenticity and integrity. These experiences are led by Aboriginal guides—Traditional Custodians of the land—who offer visitors a unique and meaningful connection to Country.

The signature Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Tour is a half-day immersive journey through sites of cultural significance across the Bundaberg Region. Guests enjoy:

  • ‘Yarn Time’ morning tea with native bush tucker tastings
  • Hands-on learning with traditional artefacts like the Boomerang and Bull Roarer
  • Language sharing and storytelling
  • A deep and genuine connection to Country

This recognition marks a significant milestone for Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tours and highlights the growing importance of Indigenous-led tourism in Australia’s cultural landscape.
